Technical Sales, Regional Graduate Program
Houston, TX

We are currently looking for highly motivated candidates for entry level technical positions in North America through our Regional Graduate Program (RGP). This program utilizes an initial rotational training program for up to 10 months. The job rotations expose RGP members to all aspects of our business: Manufacturing, Application/Development and Field Sales/Service. The goal of the rotational training program is to identify an area of interest that is the best fit for both Voith and the individual.

Candidates should have a 4-year degree or be completing one soon. Exposure to industrial settings would be beneficial but is not required. Communication and team skills are critical, as these positions require frequent customer interaction and working together with other Voith Turbo units and personnel.

Description / Responsibilities -
  • During the 10-month Regional Graduate Program, there will be rotations to production & service site(s), Field Sales regions and in product Application/Development across North America.
  • These positions will work directly with our local specialists to learn the basics in all aspects of our business.
This includes:
  • Manufacturing, service & repair processes, and product optimization within Turbo teams.
  • Troubleshooting our products in operation
  • Selling skills and building of customer relations
  • Processing and managing customer account projects.
  • Product Application
  • You will be assigned a mentor who will act as a partner, support your career development as a professional within Voith.
  • Voith Turbo is a global organization, some level of communication with counterparts in Europe, Mexico and Canada may be required.
  • Communication and team skills are critical, both for customer interaction and for effective internal cooperation. We have production & service facilities, customers and Sales/Service/Application people located across North America. Building good communications channels beyond your mentors is important.
Required Skills/Abilities -
  • Must be mobile and willing to re-locate during the 10-month training period, to Houston, TX & York, PA. The final geographic area depends on the best fit, but the likely areas can be discussed during the interview process.
  • Verbal and written communication skills. Some proficiency in German or Spanish could be beneficial but not required.
  • Interpersonal skills on various platforms, face-to-face and remote.
  • Sales and customer service skills.
  • Sales/Service/Application work consists of considerable time on and around rotating machinery. You must be comfortable in an industrial environment. Some lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and balancing is necessary.
  • You must be ambitious with entrepreneurial drive and thinking. The turbo machinery industry is large, varied, and dynamic. We are looking for individuals with enthusiasm, an openness to new and challenging tasks and experiences, self-motivation, curiosity, team-work and inter-cultural awareness.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience -
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, or Science is preferred but not required.
