Qualifications:

• 2-3 years’ of experience with mechanical/diesel/gas ground support equipment maintenance.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Certification of Completion/License in one of the following trades (a plus):
• Heavy Duty Mechanic
• Commercial Mechanic
• Automotive Mechanic

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform and show competence in preventive maintenance per established schedules on all ground support equipment.
• Learn trouble-shooting and diagnostic assessment of ground support equipment as required.
• Learn repairs and procedures to maintain all ground support equipment.
• Remove malfunctioning ground support equipment from service and ensure GSE is not returned to service until malfunction has been properly diagnosed and repaired.
• Own and demonstrate proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment, etc. required for equipment maintenance and repair.
• Complete all maintenance/repair documentation consistent with carrier, station, airport authority, municipal, state, federal and SP requirements.
• Operate and drive all types of equipment – motorized and non-motorized.
• Comply with all federal, provincial, municipal, airport authority and carrier security requirements.
• Follow all safety guidelines set by OSHA, EPA, and FAA and Management.
• Keep GSE Shop and its equipment clean and serviceable at all times.
• Report any and all deficiencies to management.
• Communicate with Ramp Management, Customers and Staff in a professional manner when needed.

Abilities and Skills:

• Attention to detail is imperative.
• Must be able to multi-task.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds.
• Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, crouch and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as walk extended distances.
• Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and/service stands.
• Subject to continual loud noises.
• Must have normal corrected hearing and vision.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles.
