Job Description:

Sara Software Systems is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Modeler to join our team on a contract basis. The Data Modeler will design and implement models supporting the organization's data needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data warehousing design principles and be able to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Data Modeler should be able to recommend Data Modeling tool for the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and interpret requirements, translating them into effective data models.
• Implement data warehousing solutions, supporting reporting and analytics needs
• Develop data models for Transportation and Logistics data warehouse
• Design and implement data structures and relationships
• Optimize data models for performance and scalability
• Ensure data integrity and security
• Document data models and metadata of the tables and columns

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in data modeling
• Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
• Experience building data models on Cloud Data warehouses such as Databricks, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift
• Understanding of Lakehouse/Medallion architectures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Experience with data modeling tools (e.g. ERwin, PowerDesigner)
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and methodologies
