Job Description

Position Summary

Under the COGEN Foreman's general supervision, be responsible for performing routine operations, inspections, and maintenance of all equipment and systems located within the plant. The position is responsible for making daily decisions within established guidelines regarding plant operation and operating expenses. Assists in the training and qualification of new and or less experienced operators.The position involves close interaction with the Company's Operations field personnel along with external vendors and subcontractors. Key Accountabilities

•Directs new operators in the performance of daily tasks and or direct contractors in the performance of required plant maintenance activities.

•Ensures the plant is operated and maintained according to Company policy and ensures compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulatory requirements with a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental issues.

•Responsible for continuous operations of COGEN operation plant by performing equipment rounds, monitoring DCS, and responding to alarms by calmly taking appropriate corrective actions. Take the lead in diagnosing and solving plant performance issues.

•Reads and follows written operating procedures, P&IDs, and other technical material applicable to COGENeration plan operation and maintenance.

•Performs required field adjustments of plant equipment and systems to ensure that system operates in accordance with generation requirements, established operating parameters, and environmental permit requirements.

•Monitors and maintains appropriate inventory levels of chemicals and consumables required to operate the plant.

•Utilizes the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document and track the maintenance requests/work orders and actions completed on plant equipment and systems. Demonstrate the ability to identify the parts and plan to correct issues identified in the CMMS system.

•Participates in plant housekeeping program and completes clean-up activities required to maintain the desired level of plant cleanliness.

•Operates station vehicles such as forklifts, trucks, man lifts, and overhead cranes

•Contributes to the development, review, and issuance of required plant operating procedures and training programs.

•Collaborates with both the operational and HSE team to effectively meet area and departmental HSE goals.

•Complies with all the Company's Safety and Environmental policies, practices, and programs. Takes corrective action within training limitations. Escalates as necessary.

•Participates in and adheres to all training programs designed to enhance HSE knowledge, safety standards and improve job performance.

•Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Certificates, Licenses

•High School Diploma or equivalent required.

•Associate's Degree in Engineering preferred.

•Valid Driver's License required.

•Forklift certification required.

Experience

•5-7 years of prior COGEN experience

•Gas turbine with heat recovery unit experience preferred.

•Instrumentation and or electrical experience preferred

•Ability to read and respond to computer-generated data, instrumentation, gauges, readouts, and variations in color.

Desired:

•Ability to be flexible to changing work schedules for outages and other shift coverage needs.

Work Environment

This role works primarily in a non-office environment. In this capacity, incumbents are regularly:

•Exposed to outdoor elements such as extreme heat or cold, heavy winds, rain, or snow.

•Exposed to loud noise level elements

•Required to drive to and access job sites, in light of day as well as in darkness, to perform work assignments. Some job site locations may be remote from the office requiring long drives to locations isolated from interaction with others and towns.

•Required to balance, bend, squat, crouch, climb, reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, push/pull and lift objects, and use apparatus to push/pull and lift heavy objects weighing 50 lbs or more.

•Subject to exposure to hazards such as but not limited to slippery or uneven surfaces; environmental/industry hazards such as chemicals, high-decibel noise from production equipment, fumes, or poor ventilation; proximity to moving objects and vehicles; potentially combustible components; hazardous off- road conditions such as dust, ice, and snow.

•May be requested to work long hours to complete job assignments.

•May work a rotating schedule, shift, and/or be on call.

•Follow all company safety policies and protocols.

•Required to perform active, physical tasks including but not limited to operating equipment and/or machinery and making adjustments and repairs.

•Required to have visual acuity to work with parts, equipment, apparatus, etc.

•Required to possess audible acuity to hear alarms in the event of emergency. field locations.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position in California is between $34.00-$40.38 an hour. This position is eligible for short-term cash incentive bonus, excellent benefits including full health benefits, 401(k) with company match and immediate vesting, tuition reimbursement and paid time off.
