Mercer Medicine is searching for PRN/On-Call Certified Medical Assistants or Medical Assistants for the Jekyll Island, Georgia clinic. The candidate in this position is expected to demonstrate the ability to multi-task by working with multiple patients, handling multiple phone calls to include appointment related calls, refills, referrals and authorizations. Display flexibility by working with different positions and in different departments as required. Responsible for EMR documentation, patient work up to include vitals, updating patient information and patient education. This candidate is expected to perform all other assigned task within the scope of their certification. Qualifications include a high school diploma/GED and at least six months of healthcare experience. Certified Medical Assistant candidates must have a current national CMA certification. Phlebotomy experience is required for CMAs but preferred for MAs. CPR certification must be earned within 6 months of start date; current CPR certification is preferred. Candidates must be computer literate for patient check-in/out, payment posting, and scanning. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. Experience with electronic medical record systems, preferably EMD and/or Athena, is necessary. The role requires the ability to multi-task, operate basic office equipment, communicate effectively, interpret physician protocols, and work both independently and as part of a team. Background check for criminal history is required.
